Position Title: Director of Operations
Report To: President/CEO
Location: Miami, OK
FLSA Status: Exempt / Full-Time
Salary Range: $38,000 - $42,000

The Miami Regional Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic and organized Director of Operations to help drive our mission of promoting business success and community vitality throughout Ottawa County.
As a key member of our team, the Director of Operations will oversee daily Chamber activities, support our members, coordinate events, and help ensure that everything we do runs smoothly and efficiently. This is a hands-on leadership role perfect for someone who enjoys variety, collaboration, and meaningful community engagement.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the Chamber’s day-to-day operations, including office management, member and community relations, event & program coordination, marketing and communications.
- Serve as a key point of contact for Chamber members, providing excellent service and support.
- Assist with membership activities including recruitment, onboarding, retention, and renewals.
- Support the President/CEO in building relationships with community leaders, local government, and business partners.
- Oversee planning and execution of Chamber events, programs, and initiatives.
- Manage event logistics, sponsorship coordination, registrations, and post-event follow-up.
- Collaborate with team members to develop creative and engaging programming that delivers value to members and the community.
- Track event budgets and evaluate program success through participation and feedback.
- Supervise and support Chamber staff, interns, and volunteers as assigned.
- Foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture that reflects the Chamber’s values.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the President/CEO in planning and implementing organizational initiatives.
- Support committees and volunteer groups that advance Chamber programs and initiatives.
- Works closely with the President to prepare for Board meetings, delivers assigned reports as directed by President, and actively supports the execution of Board initiatives to ensure results are achieved.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business, nonprofit, or chamber management.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media platforms; experience with QuickBooks or Chamber management software a plus.
- A collaborative spirit, strong work ethic, and passion for community and economic growth.
Working Conditions
- Standard office environment with occasional evening, early morning or weekends required for meetings or events.
- Occasional travel for meetings, events, and community engagement.
- Regular public interaction.

- Salary commensurate with experience.
