Description:
Wyandotte Nation Government is currently seeking compassionate Early Childhood Nurse (RN) to oversee the emotional, mental, physical, and social health of children and support the well-being of Education Staff. The nurse will provide daily health services including health screenings (hearing, vision, and other assessments), administering medications, monitoring immunization records, and providing first aid and medically prescribed services. This position also supports children with chronic health conditions or disabilities by developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with parents, teachers, and administrators.
The Early Childhood Nurse will maintain health records, oversee food allergy protocols, provide a safe sick room area for children awaiting pickup, and ensure compliance with applicable federal and tribal health regulations. The nurse will also serve as a health resource by educating children and staff on disease prevention and health procedures, and by providing training on CPR, AED use, EpiPen administration, and other health-related topics. Additional responsibilities include coordinating services with community health resources, maintaining health supplies, entering health data, and attending required trainings.
Qualifications: Applicants must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, BLS/CPR certification, and a High School Diploma or GED. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age, dependable, organized, and able to multitask while assessing situations quickly. Strong verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of child growth and development, medical conditions, and health regulations are required. Applicants must be able to work independently or in a team environment, maintain accurate health records, and build positive relationships with families and staff. A valid driver’s license, ability to travel for meetings and training, and successful completion of background checks, physical exam, and drug screening are required.
