Hours: 40 Hour Week – Full Time – Salaried $18-$22
Definition:The Lead Advocate shall work under the direction of the Shelter Director to help clients with advocacy and support and to assist clients in attaining their goals. The Advocate shall coordinate referral services throughout the community to aid victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking.
As Lead Advocate, this position is responsible for overseeing the shelter and Peace Wing residential client services. In the absence of the Shelter Director, the Lead Advocate will be responsible for scheduling, taking on call and overseeing Shelter operations. This position requires on-call rotation. This position shall office out of shelter.
Duties:
Required to attend CCC new hire orientation, shelter staff meetings, full staff meetings, and in-service training. Must adhere to Continuing Education requirements.
Ensure compliance of certification standards; grant requirements, and company policies.
Must strictly uphold Confidentiality Standards.
Provide standard advocacy services such as assessing needs, making referrals, safety planning etc.
Responsible for overseeing training requirements of Shelter Staff.
Supervision of shelter client services according to CCC policies.
Will work with Shelter Director to identify and address shelter and staff concerns.
Maintain master forms, updated referral guide, crisis call manual, and other resources as assigned.
Schedule & lead case staffings weekly.
Responsible for assigning staff to conduct shelter house meetings.
On call for emergencies/staff support and guidance.
Weekly assess supply inventory and communicate needs to Shelter Director.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Experience in Leadership or Management (Required)
Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, customer service, and time management skills (Required)
Ability to work independently (Required)
Proficient Computer Skills (Required)
Organizational skills and detail oriented (Preferred)
Strong management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills (Required)
Understanding and sensitivity toward the issues involved in domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and chemical dependency (Preferred)
Ability to work with others in a collaborative decision-making process (Required)
Pass a national level criminal background check (Required)
